A spiritual journey of an aspiring monk, who grapples with his love for sweets.

A short documentary by Lithuanian filmmaker Joris Skudra, 70% Selfless offers an intimate and humorous portrait of an aspiring monk caught between spiritual devotion and earthly temptation. With both benevolence and humour, the film follows his struggle to reconcile his pursuit of spiritual discipline with his love for ice cream and sweets.

DIRECTOR’S BIO 

Joris Skudra is a Lithuanian filmmaker who follows characters drifting through strange, intimate quests in search of something bigger than themselves. He looks at the world through humour and irony, which crack it open and let the absurd, tender and difficult truths slip through. He spends years with his protagonists, constructing cinematic worlds alive with wonder, curiosity and laughter.
His debut documentary feature, Under the Red Light, premiered in competition at the Warsaw Film Festival.
