The Eastern Neighbours Film Festival (ENFF) brings exceptional cinema from Central and Eastern Europe, the Caucasus and Central Asia to Dutch audiences, bridging cultures through the power of storytelling. Each year, we carefully curate films that might otherwise never reach Dutch screens. We provide a platform for emerging voices, celebrate established filmmakers, and foster dialogue about the pressing issues of our time. This year’s Focus Program, ROOTS – Identity Beyond Borders, explores how identity, memory and belonging remain fluid and unresolved across the region. From intimate personal stories to urgent social issues, these films offer perspectives that enrich our understanding of (Eastern) Europe and beyond.
