Newsreel 2021 – Here I Have Picture

DUTCH PREMIERE

A glimpse into the makeshift dwellings of people in unofficial refugee camps in the forests along the European Union borders.

Here I Have Picture gives a glimpse into the lives of people on the move, hiding in unofficial camps created in the forests along the European Union’s border. The film observes these makeshift dwellings not simply as fragile shelters, but as peculiar robust structures with a creature-like presence, Tom Holert describes. Through the camera, they appear to interact with their surroundings − the trees, soil, sun and snow − in a choreography of scarcity, fragility and inventiveness.
