Newsreel 670 – Red Forests

Red Forests is a film poem that rethinks the razor wire laid in the fields and forests along the EU’s borders. Those forests have inscribed in them different histories of secret shelters, refuge and practices of solidarity.
A film poem on the razor wire along the European Union’s borders since 2015. Light, flexible, cheap, aggressive and brutally effective, it encroaches on human lives while producing the greatest effects of control. The film rethinks the forests along those lines – as geographical, natural and political spaces that bear histories of clandestine refuge and solidarity across different contexts and eras.
