About

Eastern Neighbours Film Festival (ENFF) began in The Netherlands in 2006 with the idea to offer Dutch and international audiences a unique glimpse into the cinema of their neighbours from Central, South, and Southeast Europe. This annual event presents the most recent, exciting, and thought‐provoking films, from countries with small, but often powerful film industries, that mostly cannot be seen in The Netherlands. The film programme includes feature films, documentaries, shorts, and animations; most of the selected films are Dutch premieres. Each year the film programme is accompanied by numerous side events, designed to educate and initiate new partnerships. The presence of prominent guests, directors, actors, producers, and their direct communication with the audience makes ENFF an inspiring event for every participant and cinema-goer. Through the screened films, thematic debates, masterclasses, and exciting encounters with our guests, the festival creates a cultural arena where people can come together, engage, discuss and enjoy high-quality cinema.

Our new edition will take place from 5th until 9th November 2025 at Filmhuis Den Haag.

All films at the ENFF have English subtitles!

ORGANISATION

Eastern Neighbours Film Festival brings to The Netherlands exciting, relevant cinema from Central, South, and Southeast Europe. Most of the films are Dutch premieres. Next to films, we also offer masterclasses, film debates, and special get-together gatherings with drinks and snacks from Eastern Europe.
