Last night, we took On Tour to Utrecht for a special screening at Louis Hartlooper Complex and mingled. We showed our festival’s closing film, My Late Summer by Danis Tanovic, one more time! For the fifth consecutive year, the New Talents Competition gives young filmmakers from Central, Eastern and Southern Europe the opportunity to present their outstanding debut or second film to the public. We were incredibly impressed by the emerging directors’ curiosity and sensitivity towards the world. Through the lens of the camera and their personal film languages, these artists interact with the world, question their surroundings, reflect on their past and present lives, and dream about what can and should be different. Themes of identity, violence, healing, friendship and memory stand out when watching these important visual works.
This year, we selected eight films from Lithuania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Netherlands, Poland, Croatia, and the Czech Republic to compete for the €1000 Audience Award.
