Panel Discussion: Exploration of individual and collective memory in cinema on Friday 29 November at 18h

ENFF Day 5 | Filmhuis Den Haag | 10.11.19.

In program Cinema by Migrants/Cinema on Migrants, we screened ten films made by directors from Eastern or Southeastern origin living in the West or by local filmmakers whose films deal with the life of migrants. Next to the screenings, we had a debate about the new identity of European contemporary cinema. The short film program was accompanied by film directors Aleksandra Odic and Bernard Brkic with the actress Katarina Justic. Old hit Kuduz was screened in presence of the actress Snezana Bogdanovic, while film Irina with the actress Martina Apostolova.

At the closing ceremony we viewed a recently restored Sweet Emma, Dear Bobe by Hungarian master Istvan Szabo in the presence of Dutch actress Johanna ter Steege, who commented that the fashion and she herself had changed, but the film looked like it was made yesterday. We waved off our previous managing director Igor Lesić with a special gift; and handed out the audience award – a trip to Montenegro – to the lucky winner. Some of the video highlights by Alma Imamovic Ivanovov you can watch here.
