ENFF On Tour in Amsterdam: Chasing a Dream

Tuesday 24 October | 19:30 hours | De Balie | Kleine-Gartmanplantsoen 10, 1017 RR Amsterdam

ENFF On Tour in Amsterdam brings one of last year’s big hits: Chasing a Dream by Mladen Mitrovic. A compelling documentary about awakening of emotions while reconstructing a beautiful friendship, awarded at Sarajevo Film Festival.

Synopsis

Yugoslavia broke apart in a blood-soaked war. The very heart of the country, Bosnia and Herzegovina, suffered the most. The 4 years long war changed the destinies of dozens of thousands of people, dispersing them around the world as refugees. The director embarks on a world tour to find the then 10-year-old actors from his first film, scattered away from their native city by the whirlwind of war.

Mitrovic points out: “I was born on a movie set and lived a happy childhood. And just when the stars seemed closer than ever, the sky above me got overcast, bringing along the war that put everything on hold. I stopped dreaming and started escaping from a reality that was suffocating my emotions and I’ve distanced from film.”
