Winner of the Silver Bear and two more prizes at the Berlinale 2012. An intense and compelling drama that follows a day in the life of a Roma family in Hungary after a series of racist attacks on their community. The film is based on true events.

SYNOPSIS

Mari lives with her two children and their grandfather in a shack in the woods outside the city. Their living conditions are modest, like their other Roma neighbours. The recent killings of members of five Roma families put her life on the edge. Living in fear of the racist terror that surrounds them and feeling abandoned by the silent majority, the family tries to get through the day. Working double shifts, Mari tries to earn enough money to go to Canada, where her husband has already moved to. Teenage daughter Anna tries her best to concentrate in school, while young Rio is busy doing other things. He is getting ready… This remarkable film won many awards at the major film festivals. One of the MUST SEE films of the European cinema.
