Macedonian director, living in Canada, became known for his remarkable debut ‘Mirage’ and comes back now with another relevant and compelling human drama.

SYNOPSIS

Lazar works as a decoy who distracts the police and oversees the transfer of illegal immigrants across the border with the EU. Intelligent and discreet, he lives under the patronage of a local mobster and is able to support his family with the money he makes from trafficking. He falls in love with a young student, a stranger to his world and contemplates changing his life. But happiness is not an easy path and Lazar is faced with an impossible decision. Ristovski brought together great actors from different parts of the region for this film.

VERHAAL

Lazar werkt als lokaas. Hij leidt die de politie af en houdt toezicht op de oversteek van illegale immigranten over de grens van de EU. Hij leeft, discreet, onder het beschermheerschap van een lokale gangster en is in staat om zijn gezin te onderhouden met het geld dat hij verdient aan mensenhandel. Dan wordt hij verliefd op een jonge student, iemand uit een totaal ander milieu, en hij overweegt zijn leven te veranderen. Maar de weg naar geluk is niet gemakkelijk en Lazar moet een onmogelijke beslissing nemen. Voor deze film bracht Ristovski grote acteurs uit verschillende delen van de regio bij elkaar.
