Intriguing and touching cinematic take on the struggle of a family coping with death approaching their household. Dutch Premiere

SYNOPSIS

A family living in a small village has to prepare for a sad event in their life: their grandmother is dying. Soon the death phantom visits the family. This exciting, wonderfully shot film has an interesting twist. It makes us think about important notions of life. The film was shot in western Georgia’s Cholobargi village. The director graduated at the Georgian Film University in 2015. Now he studies the Master’s program in Neurobiology and works in the film industry. His film won a main prize for the Best Short Film at the International Bosphorus Film Festival in Turkey and the Special Jury Prize at the Batumi International Art-House Film Festival in Georgia.

VERHAAL

Een gezin uit een klein dorp bereidt zich voor op een trieste gebeurtenis: het sterven van grootmoeder. De dood dient zich al snel aan. Deze spannende, prachtig gemaakte film heeft een interessante twist en zet aan tot nadenken over de belangrijke dingen van het leven. Deze film werd opgenomen in het dorpje Cholobarg in het westen van Georgië. De regisseur studeerde in 2015 af aan de Georgian Film University en volgt nu een masteropleiding in neurobiologie terwijl hij in de filmindustrie werkt. Zijn film won een prijs voor Best Short Film op het International Bosphorus Film Festival in Turkije en de Special Jury Prize op Batumi International Art-House het Film Festival in Georgië.
